How to host a great activity
Choose a format, manage requests, and create a small meetup people enjoy joining.

Start with a simple format
- Pick an activity you know and can lead safely.
- Set the level, pace, and equipment clearly.
- Keep the group small enough for the place and format.
- Choose an unambiguous meeting point and a weather backup if needed.
Manage requests
Check that participants fit the activity level and respond in reasonable time. Declining a request is not a judgment of the person; sometimes the group is full or the format needs a particular fit.
During the meetup
Open with quick introductions, explain the route or rules, and make sure nobody is left behind. There is no need to force work talk—the activity does most of the work.
After the activity
Mark attendance, privately report any safety concern, and when it fits, open the After Party so participants can keep talking.
